Galerie Privée 2025

This summer, Galerie Privée is showing an exhibition of works by Peter Somm. Together with his widow Susanne, we have put together a small but interesting show that presents Peter Somm's most important pictorial motifs: Cross and circular forms as well as linear condensation.

The exhibition combines his preferred techniques - acrylic, watercolour and coloured pencil. Somm consciously sought a middle way between constructive rigour and diffuse blurriness. He created a painting of transcendence through layered, stepped rows of colour: instead of closed surfaces, transparency emerges, instead of fixed forms, fluctuating light. His works strive for dematerialisation and weightlessness.
